Moneytree Plan, Elite, & Essential
New Features & Functionality
- If a client links accounts through their portal, the balances can now be updated through an API call.
- Added disclaimer text to the Risk text page (Plan & Elite only).
- Added "Cryptocurrency" as a "Group" option for assets.
- Added ability to GET Roth conversion details through the API.
- Added an endpoint for Assumptions to the API. Allows GET and POST calls for retirement ages, life expectancy, and default rates of return.
- Advisors can now set a default report used for client access portals in Settings > Client Access.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Fixed issue where the non-itemized charitable contributions would be reported as above-line; they are now properly reported as below-line deductions.
- Fixed issue where support would not be notified when advisors sent client records to support for review.
- Fixed issue with the Cheetah import where non-qualified assets were mapped as employer sponsored retirement accounts. If a retirement account category cannot be retrieved from Cheetah, Moneytree now looks at the asset category to determine the asset Type.
- Fixed issue where Homeowner's insurance premiums would not be reported on the survivor cash flow.
- Health Savings Accounts in Cheetah can now get imported as Health Savings Accounts in Moneytree (previously imported as "Other" type retirement plans).
- Replaced the 20-year return averages on the historical returns charts with 10-year averages (Plan & Elite only). This is to meet a compliance requirement for this release; we are looking into modifying the page to include the 20- and 10-year return averages.
Moneytree Elite & Essential

- If there are multiple portals with linked accounts (ex: a client and their spouse) associated with different scenarios, options appear to select which scenario(s) to update.
- Updated the design library (addresses various UI bugs and minor improvements).
Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Fixed issue where the menus would not appear when right-clicking on a client on the clients lists.
Moneytree Elite
New Features & Functionality
- Updated authentication for the data gathering forms:
- Rather than setting up an email and password, the user (client/prospect) enter their email, then is sent a code.
- Codes are valid for 20 minutes and will authenticate the user.
- This authentication method will be used for all new sign-ups and be the default for existing sign-ups.
- Existing passwords are still valid (there is a button to to switch to the password authentication on the login screen).
- Introduced fields to enter Tips for Salary and Self Employment income and Overtime for Salary income after addressing logical issues that prevented release with the initial update for the OBBBA passed in July.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Improved performance of the data gathering forms so data loads faster
- Fixed issue on the data gathering forms where the life insurance policy details would not be properly reflected in the financial plans upon submission.
- Updated the spouse selection options on the data gathering forms; form now asks if the individual is "Married", "Unmarried with Partner", or "Single".
- Fixed issue on data gathering forms where the expenses chart would fail to update with new expense information upon revisiting the page.
- Updated the Social Security inputs on the data gathering forms so that the inputs align more with the advisor-facing inputs to address issues caused by previous implementation.
- Fixed issue where earned income would be populated into retirement fields when entered through the data gathering forms to non-retired clients.
- Fixed issue where information from linked accounts would not appear in the respective sections in the data gathering forms.
Moneytree Essential
Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Fixed issue where the Earned Income could be proportionalized on the Assumptions page, which should always reflect full annual amounts. This occurred when users elected to proportionalize the first year income and expenses.
- Fixed issues with the cash flow report (issues were only visible on the cash flow page and not reflected in capital projections):
- Double-counted asset additions
- Earned income in cases where retirements were offset
- Updated the footnote text to describe all expenses included in the "Living Expenses & Taxes" column
