New Features & Functionality
- Implemented changes for The Bill Act passed in July, 2025
- Reduced Itemized Deductions for individuals in the 37% income tax bracket
- Updated the child tax credit
- Made the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act income tax brackets permanent
- Added the temporary senior deduction as an exemption
- Updated estate tax exclusion amount
- Changes to charitable contributions
- $2,000 deduction per individual when not itemizing
- Deductions only allowed in excess of 0.5% of AGI
- Temporarily increased the SALT deduction with a fixed increased rate that phases out to a minimum of $10,000 with high AGI
- Added double inflation for next year on the 12% and 22% brackets
- Increased the standard deduction and made increased amounts permanent
- Removed the "Sunset" / "No Sunset" drop-down to have the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act expire
Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Fixed issue where certain assets would not import into Moneytree from Schwab
- Fixed issue where expired users could not login to their portal when they had accounts linked through account aggregation
- Fixed issue where catch-up contributions when automatically maximizing contributions would not be reported as a tax deduction
- Upgraded site security
- Fixed issue where Redtail imports would fail for certain cases when assets were imported into Redtail from a third party then attempted to import into Moneytree
- Fixed issue where the Today's Dollars line would not use the correct inflation adjustment to discount capital

Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Fixed intermittent issue where Social Security would fail to save for some cases
- Fixed issue where the Other/Special Income/Expenses modals would fail to add an income/expense
- New client access users are now immediately logged in after sign-up
- Improved the forgot password process for Client Access
- Fixed issues that would cause the Cheetah import to fail and improved logic to reduce risk of future failures
Moneytree Elite
New Features & Functionality
- Began implementing logic for Tips and Overtime (input fields to model them coming soon)
- Added new data gathering form for all Elite users to replace our legacy surveys (initially released with Version 2.4.0 to specific users):
- Setup:
- Added options in the new Client Access section of settings to enable/disable the form
- When the form is enabled a URL appears that is unique to each advisor
- Copy the URL to provide to new clients and prospects to register an account so they can securely enter their information at their pace
- If you have existing clients in Moneytree with a client access portal, send them to https://finquest.moneytree.com/ to review their existing information and add any new information
- Data Gathered:
- Profile:
- Basic information - gathers their name, date of birth, and marital status; if they are married or have a partner they are given options to enter information about their spouse/partner throughout
- Address - capture where they live; the user is directed to provide their state and city at a minimum
- Dependents - allows them to provide details about their children and plans to pay for their college
- Link Accounts:
- Account Aggregation - allows them to link financial institutions they hold accounts with
- Basic Guidance - The client sees steps outlining how it works and what to expect
- Information Mapped - Linking accounts will bring in details about assets, liabilities, and insurance policies held at those institutions
- Retirement: The user enters when they plan to retire or, if already retired, when they did
- Income:
- Earned Income - the user enters how much they earn annually from Salaries/Wages and/or Self Employment sources; if they are retired, they are asked when they plan to fully stop working
- Social Security - walks them through the steps to model what they know about their current or expected Social Security benefits, or if they would prefer to have the system determine information for them if they are unsure
- Pensions - asks them if they have or expect to receive pension benefits; if they do qualify for pension benefits they are given options to enter the benefit details
- Other Income - allows them to model miscellaneous sources of income, if any
- Assets:
- Organized assets for easier readability. Terms used in the form may differ from the equivalent terms on the advisor-facing data entry.
- Model various different types of assets:
- Savings - the equivalent of assets with the Type of Taxable on the advisor side
- Covers cashing, savings accounts, CD, and other assets
- Returns, if any, are taxed annually as ordinary interest.
- Investments - covers non-qualified plan investments; when selected, offers options to specify how that investment is taxed:
- Taxable -
- The equivalent of assets with they Type on Equity/Other on the advisor side
- Covers taxable investment assets typically held in brokerage accounts, such as Mutual Funds, ETFs, Stocks, etc.
- Returns will be split between annually realized ordinary income, annually realized long-term capital gains/qualified dividends, and appreciation taxed upon distribution
- Tax-Deferred -
- The equivalent of assets with the Type of Tax-Deferred on the advisor side
- Covers tax-deferred assets with an after-tax basis, such as annuities owned outside of IRAs
- Growth is taxed as ordinary income upon distribution
- Balances are not subject to RMDs
- Tax-Free -
- The equivalent of assets with the Type of Tax Free on the advisor side
- Covers non-Roth tax free assets, such as municipal bonds
- Growth is not typically taxed annually or upon distribution
- Taxable -
- Qualified Plans -
- The equivalent of assets with the Type of Retirement Plan
- Selecting this offers options to select the type of Qualified/Retirement Plan
- Employer - covers tax-deferred 401k, SEP, 403b, 457, etc.; will appear as a 401k on the advisor side
- IRA - tax-deferred individually owned IRAs
- Employer Roth - Roth versions of 401k, SEP, 403, 457, etc.; will appear as a Roth 401k on the advisor side
- Roth IRA - Roth version of IRA
- Inherited IRA - captures basic starter information for beneficiary IRAs with options to select if it is a Roth or tax-deferred
- Health Savings Accounts
- Residence - Covers personal residential properties not used as rental real estate
- Personal/Other -
- Captures any other asset not listed above
- Typically covers personal property such as collectibles, jewelry, automobiles, etc.
- Assets will appear on the advisor the Group of Personal Property
- Savings - the equivalent of assets with the Type of Taxable on the advisor side
- Liabilities:
- The grid will start with the 5 most common types of liabilities
- When liabilities are added, includes tool-tip explaining that the monthly payment should only cover principle and interest
- Also includes a tool-tip explaining that the months remaining are calculated based on Monthly Payment, Interest Rate, and Current Balance
- Users can model all the same liabilities as available to advisors:
- Mortgage - also allows the user to link to a residence asset
- Auto Loan
- Credit Card
- Student Loan
- Personal
- Investment Loan
- Investment Real Estate
- RV & Boat
- Other
- If the user creates any liability of the last 4 types (Investment to Other) then they will appear listed in the grid
- Expenses:
- Personal Expenses -
- Allows users to enter their standard budget items not previously captured
- Pie chart will provide totals of all expenses, such as insurance premiums and personal asset additions, in order to reduce chances of accidentally double counting an expense type
- Users can choose between monthly and annual amounts for the budget
- Other Expenses - allows them to model miscellaneous sources of expenses, if any
- Personal Expenses -
- Insurance:
- Life Insurance -
- Allows the user to model their permanent, term, and group term life insurance policies
- Assumes pre-retirement and retirement information are identical for Permanent policies
- Asks for the remaining years on the term for Term and Group Term policies
- Other Insurance -
- Equivalent of "Miscellaneous Insurance" on the advisor side
- Captures additional non-life policies, such as auto, disability, and medical
- If "Medicare" is selected, user is asked if they are currently on medicare
- If user selects Yes, then they can enter policy details, such as if they are paying for Part B or Part D, and allows them to enter additional non-IRMAA premiums
- If users selects, No, then they do not get additional information; they system assumes they will pay Parts B and D; currently there is no default value for non-IRMAA premiums
- Submit (initially labeled "Review & Submit") -
- User can submit the data for view by a financial advisor; their information will appear in a filtered "Intake Forms" tab on the Clients page on the advisor side
- Life Insurance -
- Profile:
- Reviewing & Managing Forms
- Once a form is submitted it will appear in a new "Intake Forms" tab on the Clients list page
- The clients list will be updated to show user forms, with the following details:
- Client Name - name of the user who first setup the form
- Spouse/Partner Name - name of the spouse or partner of the form user, if any
- Status - shows if the form is in progress or has been completed:
- In Progress - the user has not submitted the form; data will not be visible
- Completed - the user has submitted the form for review; all their data will be visible and you will have options to accept the client and move them to the main client list
- Last Updated - shows the last time the user made a change on the form
- Created - provides the data that the user first registered their account to enter their data
- Clicking on a listed row will show basic personal details of the user and provide actions based on the form status
- Allows advisors to view and edit basic information for all users and their spouse/partner, regardless of form status, such as:
- Names
- Dates of Birth
- Form status
- Job Title & Employer
- Allows advisors to view and edit address and contact information for all users and their spouse/partner
- Buttons for various special actions in the top-right:
- Manage Access -
- Available to all users
- Shows the access user login email
- Provides the login email (same for all form users)
- Gives the option to copy the login email or login URL to your clipboard so that you can send the information to a user on request
- A "Send URL" button is available to have Moneytree send an automatic email with basic login details; emails will be sent from a "no-reply@moneytree.com" email address
- A "Delete Form" button is available to remove the user and all of their information from the system
- Accept Client -
- Only available to Completed forms that have been submitted for review
- When clicked, the listed user will be moved from the "Intake Forms" tab to the main Clients list
- Review Data -
- Only available to Completed forms that have been submitted for review
- When clicked, it will allow you to view and edit all the information that was entered by the user
- Allows advisors to view the Analysis pages and generate reports based on the user's information
- Manage Access -
- Allows advisors to view and edit basic information for all users and their spouse/partner, regardless of form status, such as:

Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Fixed issue where users would be prevented from giving the same name to an Aspire and Prosper report template
- Moved "Other Expenses" to a separate input area on the Expenses page, instead of placing it as a tab of the Personal Expenses area
- Moved "Other Income" to a separate input area on the Income page, instead of placing it as a tab of the Earned Income area
- Fixed issue where Equity/Other Assets not available for withdrawal would display an appreciation rate but not appreciate in reports (occurred when a return was entered for Interest, Dividends, or Capital Gains, then the "Available for Withdrawal" box was unchecked)
- Various fixes and improvements to the data gathering forms:
- Fixed display issue on the Personal Expenses page
- Added option to enable/disable account aggregation
- Fixed issue where state tax rates in defaults would appear incorrectly
- Fixed issue where Other Income/Expenses could fail to delete on the data gathering forms

Moneytree Essential
New Features & Functionality
- Added an Estimate button to the Social Security buttons to estimate Social Security benefits based on earned income and start age (start age will be set to 67 if button is clicked when the age and amount are 0)
Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Changed the button labels for Special Income and Special Expenses from saying "Other Income" and "Other Expenses", respectively to "Special Income" & "Special Expenses", respectively
- Fixed issue where Special Expenses and Special Incomes added in What-If scenarios would not be included in What-If projections
- Fixed issue where the inflation of survivor expenses would be reduced by the survivor percentage rate used to reduce expenses
- Fixed issue where multi-year special expenses would not be pluralized on the Retirement Profile (eg report would say "5 year", when it should have said "5 years")
